In memory of David Evans (1950-2025) and Norman McDicken (1940-2024)

This conference is dedicated to the memory of our two great friends, David Evans and Norman McDicken, who passed away since our last Artimino conference.

Both were pioneers in Doppler ultrasound, and enjoyed attending this conference, discussing new applications of ultrasound with old and new friends and colleagues.

Self-Nomination closed

The attendee limit has been reached. If you missed the deadline but remain interested in the event, please contact Hervé Liebgott at herve.liebgott@creatis.insa-lyon.fr to inquire about possible options.

Conference background

The 2025 Artimino Conference on Medical Ultrasound Technology is the 22nd of a series of biennial conferences on ultrasound physics, bioengineering, and clinical applications.

The general conference objectives are:

  • To provide a forum to assess current state-of-the-art of medical ultrasound imaging

  • To identify critical problems needing solutions for practical deployment

  • To share insights into future directions with experts

The conference provides a unique opportunity to address in-depth ultrasound topics including, but not limited to, flow and tissue displacement, high-frame-rate and vector Doppler imaging, elastography, photoacoustics, and ultrasound contrast agents.

Meeting format

The focus will be on discussion, led by two session chairs from the floor. Sessions will begin with an introduction summarizing the state of the art and major challenges in the field. Subsequent presentations should briefly cover methods and key results, leaving time for discussion. If there are more volunteers to present than available slots, priority will be given to graduate students, postdocs, or early-career researchers.

The schedule will be organized based on topics submitted through self-nomination.

Registration process

Registration will be conducted in two steps. First, a self-nomination form must be completed, followed by the complete registration for accepted participants.
